To the biker that didn't wave

I passed you on the road today

and threw two fingers out to wave

You passed me by without a nod

but that did not dampen my day

Sometimes I am so focused on the road ahead that I miss a passerby

Perhaps I am going through an intersection and plotting how to stay alive

Other times I'm focused on that truck ahead or just trying to survive

I waved to you out of respect and I waved to you to say hey

But most of all my wave was meant in blessing to keep you safe along your way

I passed you on the road today

You didn't wave and that's okay
